Business Process Improvement for Personal Efficiency

3 PDUs / contact hours* 3 Technical | 0 Leadership | 0 Strategic

Prerequisite: Business Process Improvement: An Introduction

This one-day course is built around the Lean tools that were applied to organizational processes in the introductory course. Here, we will apply them to personal use and deal with the obstacles that diminish productivity.  We will explore the 5S process and other variations of the Lean model to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance our ability to produce more with the same (or less) effort, reducing stress as we regain control over our workload.

Using work-related simulations, we will apply the tools and techniques to get start-to-finish evaluation and streamlining of the work to be done.  We will look at managing workflow, tackling complex or longer tasks, and adding strategies to deal with productivity thieves, to deliver more value to citizens or clients, while applying Lean on a personal level.

* This course is recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. It counts towards the PDUs (Professional Development Units) / contact hours required to attain or maintain Project Management Professional (PMP)® or another PMI designation.

PDUs are based on training hours completed by the student and are only credited to students who attend 90% of the course.
